ABOUT SPS

We’re a space where women’s and non-binary sports are front and centre, where you can celebrate or commiserate with fellow fans after a game, and it’s just another Wednesday.

OUR STORY

The idea for Set Piece Social was born from a combination of joy and frustration.

The joy we share with our mates every week watching and talking about women’s sports.

The frustration of having to research pubs in the hope they might be showing a women’s game, only to arrive and find out they aren’t.

This is where Set Piece Social Comes in.

Women’s and non-binary sports will always take priority here.

We’re a queer, women-owned business, founded by Kate and Naomi, and made possible through the support of our amazing Set Piece Social team.

A team that is ever supportive of women’s sports in general, whether that be getting behind the Lionesses at Wembley or staying up until 3am to watch Olympic Handball.

Our dream is to give women’s sports fans a place call to home – first in London, and then globally.

Between September and November we’ll be open in Homerton bringing all the action across women’s sport - come pay us a visit!

Set Piece Social is tearing down the concept of the traditional sports bar and starting again, to create a venue that is welcoming and fosters belonging.

OUR VISION

We believe wholeheartedly in inclusivity for everyone and care deeply about opening the door for those that haven’t felt seen or encouraged to come along to a typical “sports bar”.

Set Piece Social celebrates the underrepresented, with a bar and kitchen which champions women-forward brewers, distillers and chefs.

As well as screening games, we run film and doco screenings (hello Bend it Like Beckham), panel events and accurate sports quizzes (no, Peter Shilton is not the most capped football player for England!).

By day, we’ll offer a space for like-minded people to connect, networking’s not just for the golf course.

By night, after a nail-biting match, we’ll let the good times roll with underrepresented DJs front and centre.
